2022/23 Niche Snowboards Graphics

Created by Ana Van Pelt, featuring illustrations by Zosia Olenska on several pieces, the theme of this season's graphics was imagining a post apocalyptic ecotopia, and re-wilding of the Earth. Each graphic centers on themes or ideas of nature coming back into power over the Earth, hyper-mutated and evolved creatures, animism, and more.

LOCATION: Umbria, Italy
Umbria is the Truffle capitol of Italy! With the setting dominated by Mount Vettore, at 2,470 metres concealing the mysterious Lake Pilato, the panorama becomes an eerie whirl of plains and vertical rock faces. The suggestiveness of these surroundings led to its notoriety in the Middle Ages as a realm of necromancers, fairies and evil spirits.
LOCATION: Freetown-Fall River State Forest, Massachusetts, USA
The Freetown State Forest sits smack dab in the "Bridgewater Triangle," an area in southeastern Massachusetts swarming with paranormal activity—roaming specters, UFO encounters, and even Bigfoot sightings. Some believe that the forest's haunted history dates back to colonial times, when settlers purchased the land (sacred burial grounds included) from the Wampanoag Tribe. The transaction is said to have cursed the area, which has since been the site of satanic cult rituals and murders in the 1970s and 80s, as well as comparatively innocuous poltergeist and fireball sightings more recently.

Minicoy, locally known as Maliku, is an island in Lakshadweep, India. The ancient name of Maliku was Mahiladū meaning women's island. Minicoy islanders have long settled in the Nicobar Islands across the Bay of Bengal. These settlers regularly travelled back to Minicoy. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands had a reputation in the Maldives and Minicoy of being inhabited by cannibals, and so collectively the Andaman and Nicobar groups were called "Minikaa-raajje" by Minicoy and Maldive islanders. This meant "cannibal kingdom".
